Mexico: Buried Pipe Bomb Functioned in Remote Location, 2 Killed and 5 Injured
On 16 December 2024, Army soldiers conducted a patrol following reports of an encampment of armed men in a rural area in Michoacan state. Soldiers discovered dismembered bodies at the site, and while approaching the bodies, an IED described as a buried pipe bomb functioned, killing two soldiers and injuring five others.
